Rose Adams

Rose Ellen Adams, age 82, of Haymond, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital, Whitesburg. She was born on March 8, 1942, at Millstone, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Joshua and Ida Mullins Wright. She lived most of her life in Letcher County, Kentucky. Rose was a homemaker, a baker, a caregiver, and a seamstress. She had many roles during her life. Besides her children, she had two great accomplishments. She got her GED after raising her children while caring for elderly family. And got her drivers permit, which she was very proud of. She was the wife of a minister of the Mayking Church of Christ, Robert, and they strived to build the church and make it strong. She was a member of the church for over 50 years. She was passionate about spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter and church family. She was the daughter of the late Joshua and Ida Mullins Wright. Survivors include her children, Robin Davis of Viper, Kentucky, Ellena “E” (Mark) Wright of Jenkins, Kentucky, Bobby (Jenine) Adams of West Liberty, Kentucky, and Missy (Mike) Johnson of Wise, Virginia; son-in-law, Daniel Davis of Fort Myers, Florida; five grandchildren, Emily Davis, Bradley (Natalie) Davis, Aaron Adams, Cameron Adams, and Chloe Wright; one great-grandchild, that she was thrilled to meet at Christmas, Eden Elizabeth Davis; two brothers, Jack (Phyllis) Wright and Jay (Pat) Wright, both of Jackhorn; and one sister, Julia Ryan of Banner. Rose was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Robert Adams; two sisters, Beulah Wright, and Hannah Faye Adams; and two brothers, Edward “Eb” Wright, and Doug Wright. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 2:00PM at the Hall & Jones Funeral Home, Jenkins Chapel. Burial will follow at Havens Rest Cemetery at Mayking. Visitation will be on Saturday between 4:00PM-9:00PM. In lieu of flowers or gifts, you can make a donation to the Mayking Church of Christ, 27 Royal Melbourne Lane, Jenkins, KY 41537.
