Blanche Tackett Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Blanche Louvene (Deel) Tackett age 83, of Melvin, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Blanche was born in Grundy, VA on March 26, 1943, to the late Joe Deel and Nancy (Stiltner) Deel. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lonnie Tackett, and her infant son, Dwayne Tackett. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory; her daughter, Rhonda (Ronnie) Tackett of Science Hill; her son, Rodney (Donna) Tackett of Weeksbury; grandchildren, Emily (Jason) Jones, Lawrence Sabo, Tiffany Tackett, Amber (Travis) Slone and Cory (Santana) Tackett; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Skylynn, Katie, Landon, Lexi, Jayce, Gabbi, Auto, Luke, Jaxon, Weston, and Bailynn. She was also blessed with the joy of anticipating two precious great-great-grandbabies on the way. Blanche was a faithful member of Solid Rock Community Church and loved singing with her church family. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life and was reflected in the love and kindness she shared with others. She will also be remembered for her incredible talents in the kitchen. Blanche was well known for her cake baking and amazing cooking skills and she found joy in feeding and caring for those she loved. Her home was a place where family gathered, meals were shared, and memories were made. Her love was often expressed through the meals she prepared and the warmth she gave to everyone around her. Blanche leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, devotion to family, and countless treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. “To know her was to love her, and her memory will forever be cherished.” Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00PM at the Solid Rock Community Church with Bo Rogers and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Matthew Tackett Cemetery at Weeksbury. Visitation will begin on Saturday at 6:00PM at the Church with services nightly at 7:00PM.
