Gladys Sword Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gladys Sword 65 years of age of Pikeville, passed away October 27, 2025, at Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on March 18, 1960, to the late Joe Hopkins and Sydney Marie Kelly. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Elster Sword; two brothers, Glen Johnson and Stevie Hopkins. She is survived by three sons, Derek Sword, Eric Adkins, James Galloway; three daughters, Jodi Johnson, Ashley Sword, Kayla Howell; five brothers, Claude Hopkins, Dougie Hopkins, Joe Hopkins, Jr, Ronnie Johnson, Joey Hopkins; three sisters, Sharon Damron, Matt Sword, Freda Hopkins; grandchildren, Caleb Morrison, Aaden Hartsock, Brantley Sword, Dustin Hall, Mason Hall, Bubby Hall, Savannah Hall, James Bord, Ethan Boyd, Lexie Boyd, Robert Boyd, Colby Howell, Kinsley Howell, Carson Howell, Carter Howell, Caden Howell, Chase Howell; four great-grandchildren, Rozalyn, JoAnna, Jackson and Grayson; along with a special friends, Tammy Boyd Hall, Dom-Dom, and Christine Fields. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00PM at the Island Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Hall Cemetery at Island Creek. Visitation will begin on Thursday, after 6:00PM at the Church with services beginning at 7:00PM.
