Misty McCoy

It is with a sad and heavy heart I write the obituary of our beloved youngest sister, Misty Dawn McCoy. Misty was born May 14, 1973, in Pikeville, Kentucky and passed from this earthly life December 28, 2025. She was preceded death by her parents, Charles Edward McCoy and Darlene Pinson McCoy Hulette. Misty is survived by her spouse Patrick, loved and adored sons, Nicholas Edward McCoy and Vance Phillip Michael Abrams both of Lexington; one sister, Connie (Gregg) Pierson of Georgetown; two brothers, Todd (Marigo) Werner, Larry (Margie) McCoy both of Pikeville; nephew, Scott Pierson; nieces, Paige Hawkins, Ally Pierson, Beth Werner, Kenzie-Grace McCoy; one great-niece, Hadley Blake Hawkins. As well as one special sister, Angie Sowards, and Angie’s daughter, Kristen Battaile, whom Misty loved as her own. Misty always had a zest for life, enjoying it to its fullest. She had a love for her bank family where she was employed, and she enjoyed her occasional fishing trips and family get-togethers. The relationship she made with our Savior, was one she cherished, and would tell often, it was the best decision she ever made. The Bible tells us in Matthew 24:13 “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved ”. For those of us left to mourn her passing we can take comfort in remembering from Isaiah 41:10 "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness". We have a promise from our Heavenly Father, that we all can be reunited, in that spiritual home not made by hands eternal in Heaven. We shall sing a new song around God’s throne. My sister, you have left a large vacant hole, that can never be filled, we take comfort and gladness in knowing you have now met our precious Savior. We shall keep the faith and your memory in our hearts until we can be reunited for eternal family reunion. May God grant us peace and comfort us left here to mourn your passing. Until we meet again Funeral services will at 1PM Thursday at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home with Doug Henry officiating. Burial will follow in the Bent Ridge Cemetery at Zebulon. Visitation will begin after 6PM Wednesday at the Funeral home with a service starting at 7PM. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses
